The Warrington Area Board Final took place on Thursday 22nd April at The Centre, Birchwood.
We had the pleasure of the Mayor and Mayoress of Warrington attend, Dr Brian Axcell & Dr Irina Axcell. Although there were 6 companies participating in Company Programme in 2010 only 3 schools were able to present as the other 3 companies were still trading and felt unable to compete.
The evening was supported by a number of organisations including BNFL, Solvay Interox Ltd, Warrington Borough Council, Warrington Chamber of Commerce, Warrington CVS and United Utilities.
On the evening teams were asked to sep up a business display stand, as well as present their experiences of managing their business to the judges and explain how their business had grown during the experience.
After displaying their companies on a trade stands to the judges and visitors the companies made their way to the theatre where they gave a five minute presentation about their experiences.
Our judges for the evening were Jacky Forster the 14-19 Manager from Warrington Borough Council, Colin Daniels the Chief Executive of Warrington Chamber of Commerce and Mel Lowe who runs his own business Mellowe Landscapes & Maintenance.
Mr Martin Wylie Chair of the Warrington Board hosted the evening.
The Mayor kindly presented the awards which went to The Opportunists from Penketh High School who won 2nd Runner Up.
Personalised Printz from Priestley College won three awards, Best Business Plan, Best Presentation and Runner Up.
Sankey Stars from Great Sankey High School stormed away with four awards, Best Interim Presentation, Best Business Plan, Best Trade Stand and Overall Best Company.
Sankey Stars and Personalised Printz will represent Warrington at the Cheshire and Warrington Area Final on the 6th May.
