The Cheshire East Area Board Final took place at Macclesfield High School on Wednesday 21st April. 7 companies participated competing for one of 6 places at the Cheshire and Warrington Strategic Final to be held on 6th May at Daresbury Labs.
The evening was supported by a number of organisations including Claymore Business Machines Ltd, Cheshire East Council, Crewe & Nantwich CVS, Fishawack Communications Ltd, MKL Publicity Consultancy and Oil Recruitment.
On the evening the teams were asked to sep up a business display stand, as well as provide a Company Report and present their experiences of managing a business.
The judges asked the students a series of questions which they dealt with extremely well.
The Deputy Mayor and Mayoress of East Cheshire also attended and spent some time viewing the trade stands before joining the other guests to enjoy the presentations.
Judges on the evening were David Watson, Managing Director of East Cheshire Chamber of Commerce & Enterprise along with Darren Hesketh, Director of Diamond Electronics, who recently won the Business Commitment to Training Award at the East Cheshire Chamber Business Awards 2010 for showing a real commitment to the training, personal development and motivation of staff.
We are very happy to have David Watson's support in his capacity as MD of East Cheshire Chamber of Commerce, as he has great contacts and has said he is happy to assist us with sourcing new volunteers and business advisors for future Young Enterprise Company Programme teams.
The awards were presented by the Deputy Mayor Mr Baxendale to Signature from Knutsford High School for Best Company Report
Dotari from Tytherington who won both Best Presentation and Runner Up
Open IT from Wilmslow were the stars of the evening winning both Best Trade Stand and Best Overall Company.
Open IT and Dotari will be representing Cheshire East at the Cheshire and Warrington Final on 6th May.
